MediaWiki is the wiki software used by Wikipedia.

Installing Locally Under Windows

  1. Install XAMPP
  2. Create a database in MySQL called “wikidb” and create a user called “wikiuser”

Installing on an ISP

  1. I use siteground.com for hosting.
  2. They provide online instructions for installing MediaWiki and several other popular packages on their site.
